VSPS Partners Tembi Sibanda and Jutta Koulen, whilst implementing a billion-dollar technology transformation project at one of the world's largest investment banks, bonded over their love of technology. Tembi had also met the third VSPS partner, Vikas Viswamban, at Duke University's Fuqua Business School as they studied for their Masters in Business Administration degree.

The trio set out to make a difference by providing innovative technology solutions to both private and public sector, with a strong bias towards enhancing capacity and policy making through technology innovation in developing nations.

Managing Partner

Tembi Sibanda

Tembi  has 15 years experience of  data governance, technology implementation and managing ’big data’ projects in the banking and capital markets space. She has a significant track record of successfully transforming businesses and assisting them gain competitive advantage through technology and data focused strategies worth billions of investment dollars.

Tembi  began her career at big four powerhouse PricewaterhouseCoopers, was  a Vice President in Treasury  at Australia’s largest bank, Commonwealth Bank and is an Associate Director at a consulting firm as the lead of the data governance practice. She holds a Bachelors in Accounting Sciences from the University of South Africa and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua school of business. In her spare time, aside from figuring out how to create technology big bangs,  she loves to write , play squash and hike through the various forests and ancient ruins of the world. 




Jutta Koulen

Jutta, a banker for 30 years, has deep experience in data governance and technology driven projects in ‘big data’ environments for global financial institutions. She has supported  organizations refine and implement their data architecture strategies as well as developing data sustainability models.

Jutta began her transition into technology development after leading multi-billion dollar projects to design and build key customized software solutions for her employers.

She has held various roles with UBS, SocGen, Deutsche Bank and was the CEO of Nexus Audiobooks Ltd.

In her spare time she leads a German State Darts Assoc. as their president and enjoys introducing new ideas to the sports world, testing new technologies as well as creating new tech based entrepreneurial opportunities.

Vikas Viswamban

Vikas is an entrepreneur who has diversified business interests in the technology, food processing and retail domains. In his previous role, Vikas was the Officer-In-Charge of Technology services for UN’s largest peacekeeping mission in D.R. Congo. He has 15+ years of experience designing and implementing multi-million dollar projects in various African countries.

In addition, from his various entrepreneurial ventures, he brings significant experience in leading startups from greenfield to maturity. Vikas has a MBA from Duke University, USA and an Engineering degree in Electronics & Communications from  College of Engineering, Trivandrum, Kerala.He spends his spare time cycling through the beautiful Kerala(India) landscape and encouraging amateur cycling in his community through his cycling social enterprise.

Rene Sutorius

René Sutorius is owner and managing director of Sidion Engineering GmbH. One customer, a second-hand PC and big plans – that was the beginning of a success story. During his studies, René developed a simulation program for internal combustion engines, which formed the foundation for his journey in the field of engineering.

A few initial programming assignments and a few project management roles later, René founded Sidion group of Companies. Sidion provides engineering software solutions to some of the largest companies in the world.
René Sutorius completed his studies of aerospace engineering at the University of Stuttgart in 1997 with the title Diplom-Ingenieur.
